  • Speech changes – You can speak softly, quickly, draw words, or hesitate before talking. So, your speech may be more monotonous rather than having the usual inflexions.
  • Writing changes – Typing can be difficult, and your writing can feel small.

Risk Factors of Parkinson’s Disease

  1. Age – It begins in middle or old age, and the risk increases with age. People generally develop the disease around the age of 60 or older.
  2. Inheritance – Having a close relative with Parkinson’s disease increases the chances of developing.
  3. Sex – Besides, men are more likely to develop Parkinson’s disease than women.
  4. Difficulty thinking – You may have cognitive problems (dementia) and trouble thinking. They occur in the later stages of Parkinson’s disease. In addition, these mental problems are not very sensitive to drugs.
  5. Depression and emotional changes – You may experience depression, sometimes in the early stages.

If left untreated, Parkinson’s disease worsens over the years. Besides, Parkinson’s disease can cause deterioration of all brain functions and premature death. However, life expectancy is normal to near normal in most patients treated for Parkinson’s disease.
