Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Write For Us
About Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Write for Us: This type of blood cancer begins in the bone marrow’s white blood cells, the soft inner part of the bone.
- It develops from immature lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell critical to your immune system.
- Further, it is common for childhood cancer. It occurs when a bone marrow cell develops errors in its DNA. Symptoms can include swollen lymph nodes, bruising, fever, bone pain, gum bleeding, and frequent infections.
- Treatments can consist of chemotherapy or targeted drugs that specifically kill cancer cells.
- Cancer begins when a cell in the body starts to grow, there are many types of cancer. Cells in almost any part of the body can become cancerous.
- Besides, Leukemia begins in the earliest forms of white blood cells, but some leukemias start in other types of blood cells. Besides, the specific form of leukemia helps doctors predict each person’s prognosis for the top treatment.
- Acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL) is also known as acute lymphoblastic leukemia. “Acute” means that leukemia can progress rapidly and, if left untreated, is likely to be fatal within a few months. “Lymphocyte” means that it develops from early (immature) forms of lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell.
- Everything starts in the bone marrow (the soft inside of some bones, where new blood cells are made). Very often, leukemia cells invade the blood fairly quickly.
- Sometimes they can spread to other parts of the body, including the lymph nodes, liver, spleen, central nervous system (brain and spinal cord), and testicles (in men). Some cancers can start in these organs and then spread to the bone marrow, but these cancers are not leukemia.
Symptoms Of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
- Fatigue
- Temperature
- Loss of appetite or weight loss
- Night sweats
- Small red spots just under the skin
- Stomach ache
- Many of the symptoms occur because your body is reacting to a lack of healthy blood cells. Leukemia cells can move them to the bone marrow.
- A lack of red blood cells can cause symptoms of anemia, including:
- Fatigue or weakness
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Difficult breathing
- Lack of platelets, tiny cells that help blood clot
- A full or swollen belly due to cancer cells in the liver or spleen.
- Headache, balance problems, vomiting, seizures, or blurred vision if cancer has spread to the brain
- Difficulty breathing if it has spread to the chest
Treatment For Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
- Chemotherapy – You can take a combination of drugs that kill or slow cancer cells, usually for a couple of years.
- Targeted therapy – Some drugs target specific parts of cancer cells and tend to have fewer or milder side effects than chemotherapy
- Radiotherapy – Your doctor may use high-energy radiation to kill cancer cells if they have reached your brain or bones or before you have a stem cell transplant.
- Immunotherapy – These drugs stimulate the immune system to kill or slow the growth of cancer cells. They include blinatumomab (Blincyto) and inotuzumab ozogamicin (Besponsa).
